Goulds Turkey Hunt in Mexico.
The Goulds Turkey is the most formidable of all the wild turkey sub-species - it is the biggest one of all! It is not uncommon to hunt at our camp mature Goulds turkey Toms that weigh in at the 28 - 30 lb mark! Their other unique characteristic is the snow white tips of their tail fan feathers, which make them one of the most coveted wild turkeys to hunt.
We have over 20 hunting spots where we will set you up with your guide before sunrise in order to hunt your Goulds Turkey. You will sit in our open or enclosed brush blinds that completely hide you from sharp-eyed toms and hens in feeding areas and along trails to the historic roost sites. You can hunt with shotguns or bow and arrow as most of your shot opportunities will be around the 20 - 30 yd range!
If you have not taken your Goulds turkey by 11 am we will come back to camp to fill up with a delicious Mexican style breakfast and give you a chance to charge your batteries with a siesta. Around 2:30 pm you will have a snack and then head out to hunt again at 3 pm. At dusk you will head back to camp for dinner.
